Brontosaurus Dinosaur Quilt Pattern, one of 5 dinosaur patterns.
3 sizes: 36x42 crib, and additional measurements for 24x28 and 48x56
The quilt shown on the twin bed is the 36x42 size with a small 1 inch framing border, and another 4 inch border of cute dino fabric I found. You can see the it already covers the top of the bed, so if you make the large size it is easy to border it for a twin bed. You can also use multiple dinosaurs in the small size as blocks to make a twin size quilt.
A great pattern for beginning quilters. All straight cutting, and straight seams. The instructions include fabric yardage, cutting instructions, triangle tips, sewing instructions, and basic finishing instruction.
The pattern first uses a chart with the given number of strips to be cut for each color. Second, it has a set of charts with piece lengths to be cut and labeled from those strips. Next you sew following a full page labeled picture of the quilt top, assembly the top row by row.
The shaping is done with quick corner triangles, or the “snowball method” where a sew line is drawn corner to corner on a square and place on top of another square or rectangle.
The T-rex is a classic, but I think this one is my favorite dinosaur pattern. Maybe because of the volcano. My son went through a dinosaur phase where he new all their names and collected everything dinosaur. If you have know a little boy like that this is the pattern for you.
