Bunny Quilt Pattern. The perfect Baby Quilt pattern for that spring time baby hopping into your life.
Skill Level: Beginner The pattern lists fabric yardage, then uses charts to show the number of strips to cut and then another set of charts giving the number of pieces to cut from those strips. The entire top is sewn using straight 1/4" seams. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles also called the snowball method. There are some instructional videos on youtube. Just search Counted Quilts.
Selecting Fabrics: Due to the fact that the pattern pieces may be sewn both horizontally and vertically to make the picture we recommend using non-directional fabric.
Quilting: I usually do outline quilting shown around the nose. This is a simple pattern which means easy assembly but that you may have to be more creative with your quilting. I chose to add things that would accent the picture, such as zigzags in the grass, fur lines on the white, his mouth, and just for fun arches to fill the sky.
My daughter decided I needed a bunny. We have so many of these little brown rabbits around here. She found an image she liked and started creating. I tweaked it a bit, and this adorable bunny was born.
