A great pattern for Beginning Quilters. All straight cutting, and straight seams. The instructions include fabric yardage, cutting instructions, triangle tips, sewing instructions, and basic finishing instruction.
The pattern first uses a chart with the given number of strips to be cut for each color. Second, it has a set of charts with piece lengths to be cut and labeled from those strips. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles, or the “snowball method” where a sew line is drawn corner to corner on a square and place on top of another square or rectangle.Once those squares are marked you follow a full page color labeled image of the quilt, assembling piece by piece, row by row.
You will notice the face is done after the top is completed. I have made the lines with a simple quilting stitch, and iron-on the eyes, securing them with quilting. The lines of the football are ribbon, but can also be made with a satin or tight zigzag stitch.
Instant Download: The pattern is a 6-page color pattern and its cover in PDF format to be downloaded and printed by you once payment is processed. If you need a color pattern, please contact me.
This pattern was originally a cheer bear as part of my sports bear series, If you are interested in the Cheer Bear let me know. I also have worked on a Cheerleader on a Basketball court.
