This pattern was suggested by a customer who wanted a fun desert scene in a throw blanket size. I had so much fun making the pattern for her I decided to give it a try as a small wall hanging. I knew just perfect fabric for that cactus. I hope which ever size you make it in you have fun putting it together in my easy stripped and pieced method.
Counted Quilts are traditionally pieced not applique. You will cut strips of varying sizes, cross cut those strips into varying lengths labeling alphabetically. Then follow a full page color "map" of the image sewing piece to piece, row by row. All straight cutting, all straight seams!
3 sizes include 36x42, 24x28, and 48x56. That is the image size so adding borders would give you even more flexibility on it's use.
