This mom and baby Elephant quilt was originally created for my sons twin bed. He shared a room with his sister then and safari was a neutral theme that worked for both of them. This makes it a great quilt for passing down to younger siblings, or for donating. You can also change the elephant colors to light blues or purples they are often easier to find shades that match.
The pattern lists fabric yardage, then uses charts to show the number of strips to cut and the number of pieces to cross cut from those strips. The entire top is sewn row by row using straight 1/4" seams following a full page labeled color image of the quilt top. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles also called the snowball method, so again straight seams.
