These Football Quilt Patterns are a variation from my sports bear series. I have really had a lot of fun making mascots, and I am open to suggestions. Contact me for custom orders.
The multiple sizes makes it great for football fans of all ages. The main instruction is for the Crib size 36"x42", with additional pages for a smaller 24”x28” and larger 48"x56". Show your team spirit by making one of these quilts as a large stadium blanket, or a small baby blanket. Add your team colors or logo fabric for a border and turn the lap size into twin size quilt.
I bordered the large size with team fabric to make a throw quilt for my brother when he watches the big game. A little color change and it works for any team with the same mascot from pee-wee to professional.
All mascot patterns with a double zero on the chest have an additional page with alternate numbers so you can change his 00 to match your favorite player.
*Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. This is a simple pattern but you should have some sewing skill first.
The pattern lists fabric yardage, then uses charts to show the number of strips to cut for each color. Then you take those pieces and use a second set of charts telling you what pieces to cut from those strips. Then there is a full page color picture labeled A-T for you to follow.
The entire top is then sewn using straight 1/4" seams. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles (or the snowball method) where a diagonal line is drawn from corner to corner and trimmed to make a half square triangle.
