Though I already have a snowman head shot wall hanging. I have had a few customer ask about a full snowman quilt, so in honor of Seattle's "Snowmageddon 2019" I decided to give it a try. Thanks to the input of friends and family I now have this Frosty Friend in my pattern collection. Perfect for winter babies, or warming winter laps. So call your quilting buddy and ask, "Do you want to build a snowman?".

Pattern Style: Rotary strip cut and Pieced (not paper piecing, not applique, so no templates)

My patterns are made in a stripped and pieced method great for beginners. I use charts for the cutting instructions. First, with the yardage and given number of strips to cut for each color fabric. Second, a set of charts giving the cross-cut lengths for the pieces, each label alphabetically. Then you will follow a full page labeled color image of the quilt top.

The shaping is done with half square triangles in the quick corner method. The entire top is sewn with straight 1/4" seams. There are some helpful videos on YouTube for those need assistance (search Counted Quilts)

Level: Intermediate. Though this is the same process as my other patterns all the round shape and all the details mean this one has a lot more pieces, including quite a few triangles. Most of my other are labeled patterns are labeled Advanced Beginner.

Multiple Sizes: This image is not a block but is designed to be the entire quilt top. The original instruction is for a crib size 36x42, but I have scaled the image to a smaller 24x28 and lager 48x56. The larger size makes a great lap quilt or add borders to bring it up to a twin. The small size is meant as a wall hanging, but it is always fun to see customer make multiples, maybe changing the colors, and using it as a large block in a full size quilt.
