This Baby Koala on Mom's back is a variation of my original Koala Quilt pattern with just the larger koala. They are for those who like me are fascinated by these fluffy eared creatures. This was inspired, along with Kangaroo, by my parents time in Australia. It is a great Baby Quilt pattern, but with the multiple sizes you could make it for an older Koala lover too.
* 3 sizes: The main instruction is for the Crib size 36"x42", with additional pages for a smaller 24”x28” and larger 48"x56"
Use the small size as a wall hanging in a safari room, or to be a part of a large quilt, perhaps paired with another of my patterns. The Middle size is great for Baby with or without border. The Large size is perfect for a Toddler bed, Throw quilt for TV watching, or border the Large size to make a Twin or Full bed. It is really up to you.
*Skill Level: Beginner
The pattern lists fabric yardage, then charts for how many strips to cut, and then how many pieces. Once the pieces are cut you follow a full page labeled picture, sewing straight 1/4 inch seams. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles, or the "snowball method". Lay a square on top and sew corner to corner, then trim and flip.
