Start to Finish Throw Quilt Pattern 54x62 PDF

This Quilt Pattern is designed as a large throw, 54x62 inch, Running Quilt. The pattern is titled Start to Finish. It is a great pattern for teenage lap quilt or stadium blanket. There are 4 individual runner blocks 24x28 each. With a simple 2 inch sashing you can make a throw. But if you want to get more creative with borders you could easily use the pattern to make a twin (see last image).

Quilting can be a meander, or as shown in my sample outline quilting with background lines. I chose to use the horizontal seam lines behind the white runners. It remained me of the action lines drawn behind someone running. And diagonal vertical lines behind the blue. It reminded me of the track lanes. Even in cross country races we often started and finished on a track.

I chose the background color to match my sons school, and hope you will support your local runner with their team colors. I know I would have loved to be wrapped in a quilt after some of my fall races.
