This string instrument quilt, titled "Strings" was inspired by my daughter and her viola. This is a great gift for the music lover in your life either as a wall hanging, lap quilt, or large quilt for the bed. Perfect for retired Orchestra teachers, or the teen with a passion for playing.
Sizes: The main instruction is for a 42"x45" quilt top, there are two additional pages with measurements to scale the image to a smaller 28"x30" and larger 56"x60". Add borders for even more variations, border instructions not included.
Method: These image style quilts are made in a stripped and pieced method. Step 1 cut strips of varying sizes. Step 2 cut into different length pieces and label alphabetically. Then step 3 follow a full page labeled color image, sewing piece by piece and row by row. Thin lines were made on the display quilt with regular quilting, but if you want them to really stand out you can use iron-on ribbon or tight zig-zag stitch.
