Support your swimmer, by making this great lap quilt featuring the Freestyle stroke. This easy to sew Quilt Pattern is made of 4 blocks each 18x18 featuring a dark silhouette of the stroke going in and out of the water, along with a starting block and triumphant finish. These blocks are then sashed and bordered to make a 56x56 throw quilt. Of course you can change the border size to fit your needs.
These images are traditionally pieced, not applique or paper piecing. Each fabric will be cut into varying size strips, and then using a set of charts to cross cut into alphabetically labeled rectangle pieces. Shaping is done with quick corner (or trim and flip) half square triangles. Meaning all straight cutting and straight seams. Perfect for beginning quilters. If you can sew a true 1/4 inch seam you can put this together.
You can really show your school spirt by changing the borders to match your team colors. Or your swimmers favorite colors.
